Here are some of the Targabot enhancements that will be available later this year. They will be obtainable as options for bots purchased today and those already in the field:
Phase I: Hit Detection: Audible and/or light strobe hit reporting. Trainers can choose “steel” sounds or any other audio files, including the sounds of people responding to being shot (for elevated realism).
Phase II: Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) driven behavior. The Targabot will collect real-time data from trainee engagement, and gradually adjust its difficulty level (increased or decreased), aggressiveness and avoidance characteristics.
Phase III: Networking of the robotic platform (WiFi or Bluetooth): This will support AI-driven machine learning and group responsiveness to trainees, that will add an unprecedented level of “reality” to live fire training.
These characteristics will further work to improve trainee (1) engagement accuracy and (2) real-time threat/no threat, shoot/no shoot decision making in the field.
There is a mention of this in a recent Military Training International article: http://www.mti-dhp.com/defense-news/robotic-live-fire-training-devices/
